Building a trail means working on narrow, often steep routes over sensitive ground, usually with no road for delivering aggregate. The answer is to build the surface from what’s already there, with kit small enough to travel the route itself. The machine types for this work are compact stone crushers that process on-site rock into a trail surface, graders and compactors to shape and finish it, and small carriers — including remote-controlled tracked units operated from outside the machine — that can reach sections a standard excavator can’t.
Exc@v8 supplies PTH’s Trail Crusher and compact grading equipment and Pfanzelt’s remote-controlled Moritz carrier to the specialist contractors who build UK trail networks.
