An official Mercedes-Benz Unimog partner
Schlang & Reichart has been an officially certified implement system partner for the Mercedes-Benz Unimog since 2017. Founded in Bavaria in 1945 and best known for its winches, the company launched its Unimog range in 2015 and now covers almost every Unimog job, from standard front recovery winches to systems built to order.
Much of the equipment comes off quickly and easily, so the Unimog stays free for its other attachments. For councils, landscapers, foresters and environmental and water-management contractors, that means one Unimog can take on more jobs through the year.

Fassi loading cranes on the Unimog
Since June 2015, Schlang & Reichart has been the exclusive mounting partner for Fassi cranes on the Mercedes-Benz Unimog. The crane sits on a frame S&R developed for it, so the flatbed keeps its normal loading height, and four sturdy outriggers swing out of the way for the road.
Each crane body is planned around the work and the Unimog chassis it goes on, from Fassi’s wide choice of crane models. It can be combined with other equipment, such as a winch or a tipper body.

Front winches for recovery and pulling
For recovery and pulling work, S&R makes several types of front winch for the Unimog, from 5 to 12 tonnes of pulling force. They mount on the municipal mounting plate or a three-point linkage, or they can be fixed to the vehicle, and S&R can also build a winch unit to your own specification.

A winch built into the tipper body
S&R’s interchangeable winch and tipper body puts a geared winch of 6.0 or 8.0 tonnes and a large toolbox, which opens from the side and the top, into a three-way tipper body. It’s built for environmental and water management work and landscaping.
The body mounts straight onto the vehicle frame with no subframe, so the platform stays at its usual height, and it still tips with the winch fitted. When the Unimog is needed for something else, the body comes off on four support legs. The winch runs by radio remote control, so the operator can stand clear of the danger zone, and a rope feed brake stops slack rope forming as it winds in, which protects the rope and the winch.

The Crane Trailer 80.13
For crane work without tying up the Unimog, the Crane Trailer 80.13 carries its own loading crane on a tandem three-way tipping trailer. S&R designed it for the Unimog (its Unimog catalogue calls it the U12), and it works behind any high-speed tractor or truck too. Because the crane rides on the trailer, the Unimog keeps its full payload and stays free for its summer and winter work.

Power take-offs, hydraulics and rear linkage
S&R also fits the equipment that lets a Unimog run more attachments. Standard-compliant front and rear power take-offs come hydraulically or mechanically driven, the hydraulic PTO in several power levels up to 75 kW. A high-performance hydraulic system adds 118 l/min at 260 bar, for special applications and for running a hydraulically driven winch.
At the back, a rear linkage lifts up to 5 tonnes, and two types of rear support legs hold the Unimog steady when the work needs a secure stance.
Quick answers
Will it fit my Unimog? Tell us your Unimog model and the work you need it for, and we’ll check with Schlang & Reichart. Crane bodies are planned around the chassis, and winch units can be built to your specification.
Can the equipment come off the Unimog? Much of it can. The winch and tipper body comes off on four support legs, and the front winches mount on the municipal mounting plate or a three-point linkage, so the Unimog stays free for its other attachments.
Can I buy Schlang & Reichart Unimog equipment in the UK? Yes. Exc@v8 supplies and supports Schlang & Reichart’s range in the UK and Ireland. Use the form below or call us.
