Motorex traces back to 1917, when Arnold Bucher began making leather and floor-care products under the REX name near Langenthal, Switzerland; the range became MOTOREX in 1947 as the business moved with the motorisation of the world around it. The Motorex-Bucher Group remains an independent family company, over a century on.

Motorex’s hydraulic oil is rapidly biodegradable and widely regarded as among the highest-quality available — long-drain periods in excess of 90,000 hours have been recorded under regular sampling, with measurably lower pump and component wear than other widely available hydraulic oils. That performance is backed by ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certification and Motorex’s own in-house laboratory quality control.
