Gjerstad was founded in 1964 by Kjetil Moe in Sundebru, Norway, starting out producing and repairing excavator buckets before expanding into the full attachment range it builds today. Breakthrough engineering — including its shim-free HK fasteners — established Gjerstad as a technology leader, and production remains based in Scandinavia under the Construction Equipment Group AS.

The range covers excavator attachments (buckets, hydraulic grading buckets, rippers, grabs, cable buckets, quick couplers, sorting grapples and pallet forks), wheel loader attachments (high-tip and light material buckets, side tip and levelling buckets, snowblades, forks and frames, container lifters, block handlers, sand spreaders and lifting jibs), plus motor grader blades and Jetwash wheel-wash systems that stop trucks carrying mud and gravel onto public roads.
