The premier class of walking excavators

Exc@v8 is the sole UK and Ireland importer and official dealer for Menzi Muck walking excavators — the Swiss-built all-terrain machines, also known as spider excavators, that Ernst Menzi invented in 1966 to work safely on mountain ground.

Their flexible chassis adapts to almost any surface: gradients up to 45° (100%) unassisted, steeper with winch assistance, water to 2.2m, deep mud, riverbeds and steep forestry. That mobility, paired with lifting capacity and hydraulic flow well beyond conventional machines of the same weight, makes a Menzi Muck the practical answer where a standard crawler or wheeled excavator cannot reach.

Typical UK work includes steep-slope timber harvesting, road-rail and rail-corridor vegetation clearance, drilling and slope stabilisation, hydro pipeline installation, and river and watercourse maintenance.

Menzi Muck has worked on British infrastructure since the 1970s. With Exc@v8 as dealer for almost two decades, owners get UK-based sales, service, genuine parts and 24-hour support across mainland Britain, Ireland and the islands. Exc@v8 also engineers bespoke Menzi Muck conversions for specialist applications.
