Pfanzelt Tractor-Mounted Forestry Cranes
Pfanzelt's cranes for mounting on standard and specialist forestry tractors, for forwarding short and long timber, with a high pivoting moment for slewing uphill: six sizes from 5.09 to 10 m and up to 112 kNm gross lift moment.
- Six sizes, 5153 to 71100
- 5,090 to 10,000 mm crane length
- Up to 106 / 70 kNm (112 / 70 kNm on the 71100)
- 6-way EHC control with two joysticks
- 6.0 or 10.0 t infinite rotator
Overview
Besides its loading cranes for forwarding trailers, Pfanzelt builds cranes for mounting on standard tractors and specialist forestry tractors, for forwarding short and long timber. They usually have a larger lifting force and a higher pivoting moment, so the crane can slew powerfully even uphill, and are controlled by a 6-way EHC control with two joysticks.
Slewing gear and geometry
Pfanzelt cranes have a robust 4-cylinder slewing gear; the high pivoting moment means loading work can also be done working uphill. The power link (toggle) system between the main and folding booms gives the crane its loading geometry, so timber can be placed directly against the headache rack, with constant force, more reach and a higher working speed. A rapid traverse valve, standard on every crane, extends the telescope about 1.5 times faster.
Hoses and bearings
The hydraulic hoses are concealed from the control block to the crane tip, laid in a hose shaft at points of high load and near the control stand, and the telescopic cylinder is mounted inside the boom. An optional pendulum with internal hoses and a double pendulum brake protects them right to the tip. All crane pins run in lubricated, hardened bronze bushes with adjustable axial play.
Control and options
Pfanzelt cranes come with a mechanical control block and two control toggles, each with an electrical switch, so the boom movements can be combined without changing levers. Options include:
- EHC control with a cord or wireless panel
- Two Danfoss Pro 1 joysticks on a rotary seat
- An independent hydraulic oil supply
- Crane floodlights
- A hydraulic oil cooler
- An operating hours counter
- A trunk scraper
- The exTEND crane cable winch (1.5 t, 50 m of cable, with radio control)
- Grippers for logs, branches, bulk material and round bales
