Overview
The W-Lock is Wimmer’s economical quick-change technology, for excavators of all sizes up to 140 tonnes. It comes in six sizes, from the WL 450 to the WL 1100. Exc@v8 supplies Wimmer in the UK.
Simple, solid construction
The W-Lock is a solid, simple construction. Attachment tools can be reversed, so a bucket can be turned round.
Locking
The W-Lock uses a patented taper locking system (Patent No. US 7,198,451 B2), which is 100% backlash-free. Hydraulic force reversal means the coupler cannot jam, and there is a safety circuit with constant pressurisation of the locking device.
Choosing a size
Pick the size by excavator weight. The table below gives each size’s approximate dead weight and the excavator weight it is for: the WL 450 for 16 to 24 tonnes, the WL 550 for 24 to 38 tonnes, and the larger sizes for excavators up to 50, 75, 120 and 140 tonnes.
