Rail corridor work rarely stays on the rails. Vegetation, drainage and embankment repairs sit on cuttings and slopes that a conventional road-rail machine can only reach from the track, and possession windows leave no time to bring in a second machine. The plant for this work is road-rail (RRV) walking excavators that can rail and de-rail and then climb off the track, rail-gauge mulchers, shears and grapple saws for vegetation, and rail trailers and dumpers for moving material along the line.
Exc@v8 supplies Menzi Muck’s road-rail range (the M545X RRV and M585 RRV excavators and the 65RD RRV rail dumper) alongside Seve’s tooling for rail vegetation control, and builds its own custom rail conversions in-house.

65RD RRV
The 65RD RRV is the road-rail version of the 65RD, Menzi Muck's 65RD RR: an 8,100 kg dumper carrying 4,200–6,300 kg, with hydraulic drive on the rail and the same hydraulically rotatable cab as the 65RD.
