Pfanzelt Moritz Remote Mini Tractor

Pfanzelt Moritz Remote Mini Tractor

The Pfanzelt Moritz is a remote-controlled mini tractor on tracks for steep, soft and sensitive ground, in two versions, the Fr70 and Fr75. It works as a forestry tractor with a cable winch, as a carrier for mowers, mulchers and planting tools, on trails and ski slopes, and, in Exc@v8's fire version, in support of firefighting.

Pfanzelt Moritz winching a log in a forest, the operator in protective gear beside it

Forestry and winching

With a geared cable winch of 5.0 to 7.2 t and up to 110 m of cable, the Moritz skids and forwards timber and supports felling. The winch sits in the stacking shield, so the cable infeed height can be set, and the shield can be anchored to a tree when the machine’s own weight isn’t enough. A lockable bin and holders carry the chainsaw, fuel and straps.

Pfanzelt Moritz on a steep alpine slope, held by its traction winch

Steep ground

On exposed slopes, a hydraulic traction winch with up to 1,000 m of rope secures the Moritz from above. Its pull is set from the remote, up to about 11 kN, and the rope guide leaves every direction of travel free. The tracks widen hydraulically by 400 mm for stability, and the drift setting holds the line when mowing across a slope.

Pfanzelt Moritz with a hedge trimmer working beside a railway line

Mowing and mulching

With a mower or mulcher, the Moritz works road verges, railway lines, embankments, solar parks and the banks of rivers and lakes. Pfanzelt’s forestry mulchers, including the MAX forestry mulcher, and its grass and undergrowth mulchers run from the PTO or the performance hydraulics.

Pfanzelt Moritz with a PTH Trail Crusher on a forest trail, the operator walking behind with the remote

Trail building and maintenance

On mountain bike and hiking trails, the Moritz builds and renovates paths with a trail groomer or milling attachment, working by remote on narrow lines without damaging the ground around them. The PTH Trail Crusher, which crushes stone, mills and mulches in one pass, can be fitted as an extra, as can Pfanzelt’s own MAXpro Stonecrusher and Compactor.

Pfanzelt Moritz with the Plantomat planting machine in a forest clearing

Planting and sowing

For reforestation, the Moritz prepares the ground with the MAX forestry mulcher or a sowing-strip mulcher with a seed module. It plants with the Plantomat, which carries 50 container plants and sets 100 to 120 an hour.

Pfanzelt Moritz clearing snow with a snow blower on the Grossglockner road

Snow and alpine work

In winter, the Moritz clears paths and ski slopes with a snow blower or a blade, held on steep ground by its traction winch. In summer, it maintains ski slopes with a mulcher or cutter bar.

Exc@v8’s fire version of the Pfanzelt Moritz Fr75 at a show, with its water and foam cannon

Fire version by Exc@v8

Exc@v8 builds a fire version of the Moritz to support crews in the first response to wildfires. It is configured from attachments to suit the job rather than supplied as one kit, and it can be ordered:

  • a rear-mounted water and foam cannon, pumping from 40 l/min to 10 m³/min, with foam for sites such as recycling centres
  • a front blade for clearing debris
  • a radio-controlled hose reel of Exc@v8’s own design, recovering hose at about 40 m a minute

The Moritz keeps its other tools, such as a PTO-driven woodchipper; we showed it at APF 2026 with a woodchipper and wildfire-fighting equipment. Remote-operated firefighting machinery · Ask about the fire version

Attachments and options

Pfanzelt builds most of these for the Moritz, the firefighting equipment is Exc@v8’s, and other makers’ equipment fits its category 1 three-point hitch. Pfanzelt’s Moritz brochure (PDF) has the details.
