Marine and watercourse work means handling heavy stone and working at the water’s edge, often on banks that won’t take a conventional excavator. Coastal defence contractors need grabs that can place armourstone accurately, loaders need block-handling tools for stacking and moving it, and river, spillway and reservoir works need a machine that can wade into the water rather than reach from a barge or a built-up platform. The relevant machine types are excavator rock grabs, wheel-loader block buckets, forks and jibs, and walking excavators rated to work in water.
Exc@v8 supplies Wimmer grabs, Gjerstad’s wheel-loader block-handling range and Menzi Muck walking excavators, which can wade in water over 2 m deep. We supply the plant to the contractors who deliver these schemes. Tell us the job and we’ll match the machine to it.
