PTH Trail Crusher
The PTH Trail Crusher builds and renovates mountain bike trails, cycle paths and hiking trails, crushing stone, milling and mulching in one pass, with a hydraulic or PTO drive and working widths of 900 to 1,400 mm.
- Crushes stone, mills and mulches in one pass
- Working widths of 900, 1,150 and 1,400 mm; depth up to 150 mm
- Hydraulic drive (from 75 l/min at 300 bar) or PTO drive (540 rpm, from 30 hp)
- Carbide-tipped fixed tools for stone, wood and earth; Hardox armour
- Fits implement carriers and small tractors, including the Pfanzelt Moritz
Overview
PTH’s Trail Crusher builds and renovates mountain bike trails, cycle paths and hiking trails. It combines stone crushing, milling and mulching, so soil, roots and rock are milled, crushed, mixed and laid back in one pass, giving the base for the finished trail. In practical examples it has saved more than 50% in working hours and material transport.
Hydraulic or PTO
The hydraulic version runs from a carrier’s hydraulics, from about 75 l/min at 300 bar, and suits narrow trails that are hard to reach; it sets a working angle of up to 28°. The PTO version runs from a tractor’s power take-off at 540 rpm, from about 30 hp, and suits longer runs on forest and mountain trails, at a working angle of up to 20°. Both have an adjustable swivel and transverse tilt, or a floating position that follows the existing trail shape and terrain.
Construction
The Trail Crusher’s technology comes from PTH’s larger stone crushers and forestry mulchers. Its rotor carries carbide-tipped fixed tools for stone, wood and earth in an overlapping arrangement, inside replaceable 10 mm Hardox armour, with a mechanically adjustable Hardox crushing stage and a hydraulic tailgate. It works to a depth of 150 mm, even in hard stone.
With the Pfanzelt Moritz
The Trail Crusher works on the remote-controlled Pfanzelt Moritz, driven by the Moritz’s PTO or its performance hydraulics.
