Overview
The Steelwrist XTR2 is the smallest model in Steelwrist’s XTR series, built for excavators up to 2 tonnes. Steelwrist designed it around the three things that matter most on a compact excavator: flexibility, building height and low weight. Exc@v8 supplies it in the UK.
Where the XTR2 fits
A compact excavator with a tiltrotator suits construction work on busy, confined city sites, with people on the move close by. The tiltrotator adds manoeuvrability in those sensitive areas while delivering strong earthmoving capacity and efficiency.

S30 top or Direct Fit
The XTR2 connects to the excavator with either an S30 top or a Direct Fit mount. Direct Fit is often chosen for compact excavators where the tiltrotator stays permanently fitted to the dipper arm. A Direct Fit unit takes pin diameters of 25–35 mm at pin distances of 85–185 mm, fits a dipper arm up to 125 mm wide and includes a 0.75-tonne lifting hook. Cylinder width is 367 mm on the S30 version and 335 mm on Direct Fit.
S30 coupler and work tool safety
The tool side of the XTR2 uses an S30 quick coupler, so it takes Steelwrist’s S30 work tools. The S30 coupler is available with hydraulic locking. The hydraulic-lock version includes an integrated Front Pin Hook, a work tool safety solution that supports CE requirements.
Work tools
Steelwrist offers a complete set of S30 work tools for the XTR2: grading, digging, cable/trenching and V-ditch buckets, a multi grapple, an asphalt cutter and a ripper. Fitted with the right tool, the excavator becomes a versatile tool carrier for a wide range of applications.
Hydraulics and control
The XTR2 runs on an oil flow of 20 l/min at up to 210 bar. Steelwrist supplies two types of tiltrotator control system: the QuantumConnect platform, which includes the InstallMate and QuantumConnect apps and stays up to date through its connectivity, and the more basic four-hose proportional machine control.
