Overview

The Seve S300 is a compact forestry shear head for hydraulic excavators from 10 to 15 tonnes. It brings cutting precision, mechanical strength and easy handling to forestry work in complex environments, and cuts hardwood up to 320 mm in nominal diameter, or 400 mm at maximum capacity. Exc@v8 is the sole UK importer of Seve.

Cutting performance

The S300 has a hydraulic system with an integrated speed valve as standard. Its optimised cutting profile and reinforced high-strength steel blades keep it cutting in tough conditions. The dual-blade design improves cutting quality and reduces tool wear and the stress on the carrier machine.

Fitting and working with it

Its controlled weight suits hydraulic excavators from 10 to 15 tonnes, and a tailor-made mounting system allows quick installation on different types of machine. The accumulator arm is included as standard and improves felling rates, particularly in small timber operations.

The head works in fixed or rotating applications. Its robust structure allows use on delicate ground such as wet areas and sensitive soils without limiting the excavator’s mobility, and its light weight keeps movements responsive. Outside the forest, it also suits restricted areas such as road shoulders, urban environments and difficult rights of way, where it can replace risky manual methods.

Maintenance

The S300 is designed for simple maintenance, so work can be done in the field. Its hardened steel wear parts can be replaced without complex disassembly, which reduces downtime and long-term maintenance costs, and the blades adjust quickly.

Options

Options let the head be fitted to the job:

  • A complete rotation module (adding 300 kg) with a double hydraulic motor for more torque and continuous 360° rotation through a high-flow rotary joint, needing no additional lines
  • An adaptive interface for mounting on the excavator
  • An integrated CAN-bus link between the head and the excavator
  • Compatibility with tiltrotators of all makes
  • Wireless hydraulic control (low flow)

Where it is used

  • Intensive forestry: clear-cutting or thinning, for firewood or industrial timber.
  • Peri-urban forests: pruning, and securing the edges of infrastructure.
  • Electrical network maintenance: removing vegetation that threatens overhead lines.
  • Forest restoration: eliminating dead or invasive species.

Quick answers

What size excavator is the S300 for? Hydraulic excavators from 10 to 15 tonnes.

What can it cut? Hardwood up to 320 mm in nominal diameter, and up to 400 mm at maximum capacity.

What hydraulic supply does it need? A main line flow of 70 to 120 l/min at 250 to 300 bar, and an auxiliary line flow of 35 to 50 l/min.

Can it rotate? Yes. Continuous 360° rotation is available with the optional rotation module, which adds 300 kg.
