Overview
The Seve MFM is a forestry mulcher for hydraulic excavators from 14 to 25 tonnes. Its fixed-hammer rotor shreds grass, brambles and wood up to 450 mm in diameter, which suits clearing, deforestation, brush and tree clearance and the upkeep of natural areas. Exc@v8 is the sole UK importer of Seve.
Built for all types of vegetation
The MFM handles grass and brambles as well as trees and stumps. The frame is reinforced so the excavator can lean directly on the mulcher body, which gives stability and absorbs shock. The honeycomb structure adds rigidity while limiting the build-up of plant debris.
Rotor and drive
The rotor has a triple inverted helical profile for fast, even grinding, with single-profile fixed hammers that cut cleanly through every type of vegetation. A direct drive through a flector coupling reduces energy losses and improves reliability.
Standard equipment
Every MFM has an integrated spray hood to protect the operator and the working area, and an interchangeable wear plate for durability. The bearings have double protection against wire and other obstacles, and the direct drive improves responsiveness and reduces wear.
Hydraulics
The MFM runs at 200 to 420 bar with a flow of 100 to 200 l/min, which suits forestry and agricultural worksites.
Options
Options let the mulcher be fitted to the work:
- A 60° tilt for precise work on slopes
- The rotor opening to the left or right
- Fixed hammers in steel or carbide
- A support foot with integrated clamp for stability and control
- A flap to control projections
- An anti-cavitation valve
- A choice of hydraulic motor from 41 to 160 cm³
- Made-to-measure hydraulic hoses and mounting plate
It can be supplied ready to fit to the excavator.
Choosing a width
The MFM comes in three widths: 1.0 m, 1.25 m and 1.5 m (the MFM/100, MFM/125 and MFM/150). All three run at 200 to 420 bar and 100 to 200 l/min, suit excavators of 14 to 25 tonnes and mulch to a maximum diameter of 450 mm. The wider the head, the more hammers it carries (15, 21 or 27) and the heavier it is (700, 750 or 810 kg). The figures in the table below are for the machine without options.
