Forestry, farming and landscaping

In forestry, the Pm Trac forwards long and short timber with a cable winch and crane in the rear mounting space, directly above the rear axle; a rear crane with a low column or a loading crane with a high column can be fitted there, with a favourable centre of gravity. It also works with a forestry mulcher, an energy-wood felling grapple, a felling unit or mulching head on the crane (with an auxiliary hydraulic system for the higher power), or a chipper, whether self-powered or driven from the PTO, which stays accessible with the crane and winch fitted. In landscaping and municipal work, the rear power lift takes mowers and spreaders, and a municipal coupling plate can replace the front hydraulics. Once the forestry equipment is removed, it works as a farm tractor with no further conversion.

Pfanzelt system mount (PSA)

The cab sits towards the middle of the vehicle, leaving a rear mounting space above the rear axle where the Pfanzelt system mount takes the crane and winch. Its quick-change system lets them be fitted or removed without tools in under 20 minutes, and the support frame takes the forces from heavy cranes and mowers. With the front and rear three-point linkages and front loader consoles, the Pm Trac has four mounting and attachment areas.

variaDRIVE and hydraulics

Pfanzelt’s own variaDRIVE is a continuously variable, power-split transmission with three forward and two reverse travel ranges, top speeds of 40 or 50 km/h, smooth direction changes and no clutch changes when shunting up to about ±7 km/h. The hydraulics deliver 160 l/min at 210 bar as standard, or 200 l/min optionally, and an additional power pack driven directly from the gearbox PTO can supply more than 100 kW for high-performance implements.

Cranes, winches and trailers

Pfanzelt cranes for the Pm Trac come in lifting classes from 5 to 7 mt with up to 10 m of reach, as forwarding grapples with a low column for skidding long timber or forwarding cranes with a high column, which also load a forwarding trailer. Double-drum winches with 6 or 8 t of pull and up to 150 m of cable mount under the crane above the rear axle, with an optional remote propel for winching.

8-wheel system

Coupled to a driven Pfanzelt forwarding trailer, the Pm Trac becomes an 8×8 forwarding combination. Two trailers are offered for it, both with the powerDRIVE four-wheel hub drive:
