Overview

Motorex ECOSYNT HEPR is a biodegradable hydraulic oil (EAL) based on biodegradable base oils, and it meets the biodegradability requirement of OECD 301B. It is officially approved as a biodegradable hydraulic oil, developed for long-life applications and suitable for all hydraulic systems.

Where it is used

ECOSYNT HEPR is for construction machinery, forestry and agricultural machinery, and for equipment where biodegradability is required, such as sewage treatment plants, municipal vehicles, hydro and wind power plants, water vehicles and submersibles, and small devices and appliances.

Properties

  • Biodegradable, and officially approved as a biodegradable hydraulic oil
  • Developed for long-life applications
  • Miscible and compatible with many hydraulic oils
  • No static charging
  • Very good shear stability: it stays in grade
  • Hydrolytic stability: the oil does not react with water
  • Excellent corrosion protection
  • Very good compatibility with materials and elastomers, even at high operating temperatures

Specifications and approvals

  • DIN 51524-2 HLP and DIN 51524-3 HVLP-D
  • DIN ISO 15380, and ISO 6743-4 HEPR and HV
  • Swedish standard SS 15 54 34, classified as an EAL
  • OECD 301B, and US EPA VGP:13
  • Liebherr EMT LH-00-MINIMUM-HYE
  • Cincinnati Milacron P-68, P-69 and P-70
  • Recommended by Bucher Hydraulics

Changing over from mineral oil

When changing from a non-biodegradable hydraulic oil to a rapidly biodegradable fluid, follow the guidelines of DIN ISO 15380/A.1 and the machine manufacturer’s specifications. ECOSYNT HEPR is well suited to extended maintenance intervals, and it can be mixed with mineral oil-based hydraulic oils.

Grades and pack sizes

The figures on this page are for the ISO VG 46 grade. Motorex lists it in a 20 l jerrycan and a 200 l drum, and ECOSYNT HEPR is also made in ISO VG 32 and ISO VG 37. Tell us the machine and the grade you need and we will confirm what is available.

Quick answers

Is it biodegradable? Yes. ECOSYNT HEPR is a biodegradable hydraulic oil (EAL) that meets OECD 301B and is officially approved as a biodegradable hydraulic oil.

What is the difference from a mineral hydraulic oil? ECOSYNT HEPR is a biodegradable oil that meets OECD 301B, which a standard mineral hydraulic oil does not, and it can still be mixed with mineral oil-based hydraulic oils.

Is it suitable for long drain intervals? It is developed for long-life applications and for extended maintenance intervals. The interval itself depends on the machine, so follow its manufacturer’s specification.
