Konrad Mounty Tower Yarder

Konrad Mounty Tower Yarder

The Konrad Mounty is a truck-mounted tower yarder for timber harvesting on steep slopes, with a cable crane system and loading crane on a Mercedes Arocs truck, in three sizes: the Mounty 3000, 4000 and 5000.

Konrad Mounty 3000

The Mounty for thinning on steep slopes, with a cable crane system and loading crane designed for processing mainly small-diameter wood quickly, on a Mercedes Arocs 6×6 truck.

Tower height
13.0 m
Main line pull
30 kN
Operating length
500 m, 700 m long-rope
Power
420 PS

Konrad Mounty 4000

The all-round Mounty, from thinning to heavy timber harvesting, on a Mercedes Arocs 6×6 or 8×6 truck, with lines up to 800 m long.

Tower height
13.0 m
Main line pull
47 kN
Operating length
600 m, 800 m long-rope
Power
420 or 450 PS

Konrad Mounty 5000

The largest Mounty, developed for long cable lines and strong timber on steep slopes: a cable crane system on a four-axle Mercedes Arocs 8×6 truck, with a 14.2 m tower and lines of 800 m.

Tower height
14.2 m
Main line pull
47 kN
Operating length

Konrad Liftliner carriage on the skyline above a Mounty tower yarder

Working uphill and downhill

The Mounty works uphill and downhill. Downhill, it runs Konrad’s radio-controlled Liftliner carriage in the haul-back system: the lifting winch in the carriage lets it travel along the skyline and pull in logs at the same time, which takes load off the crew and shortens work cycles. When working downhill, the wide tower protects the operator.

Harvester heads

The Mounty’s loading crane takes Konrad’s own Woody harvester heads, the WH50-1 or the WH60-1.
