Exc@v8 gain FORS accreditation

Tunnelling industry supplier Exc@v8 of Kendal have gained accreditation to the Fleet Operator Recognition Scheme (FORS).

Exc@v8 take road safety — and in particular the safety of vulnerable road users — very seriously, and have long had a fleet management plan in place to mitigate risks to other road users.

Following an extensive audit by the FORS team, Exc@v8 passed with flying colours and are now able to display the FORS logo and maintain the excellent standard of fleet management and road safety they strive for.

The FORS accreditation also allows Exc@v8 to supply London’s tunnelling industry, including the prestigious Crossrail project, in which it is heavily involved. Along with the FORS audit, Exc@v8 staff have attended Safe Urban Driving courses in the capital to further manage risks to vulnerable road users, not just in London but on contracts nationally.

Exc@v8 have rolled out their FORS compliance scheme nationwide, and all vehicles attending all contracts are FORS compliant. Exc@v8 acknowledges the risks posed to vulnerable road users by construction supply traffic and is committed to reducing those risks as far as possible through ongoing staff training and vehicle monitoring. Exc@v8 is the world’s only supplier of all-terrain mobile excavators and tiltrotators to have achieved Crossrail compliance and the ability to supply large contracts in Central London.
