Pfanzelt S-line Geared Cable Winches
Pfanzelt's S-line geared cable winches bring the design of Pfanzelt's larger winches to smaller tractors, in three sizes from 50 to 72 kN of pull, with wireless control as standard.
- Three sizes, S150, S160 and S172, with 50 to 72 kN of pull
- Wireless control as standard, with engine speed adjustment
- Pfanzelt PPS precision controller, adjustable in three stages
- Cable drum in line with the pull, for easy cable payout
- Options from a cable infeed brake to wider stacking shields
Overview
The S-line takes the design of Pfanzelt’s larger geared cable winches and scales it to the smaller tractors used by semi-professional contractors and woodland owners. The S150 is the entry size, with a 1,500 mm shield and a lower overall height for smaller tractors; the S160 suits larger tractors and more pull; the S172 has an 1,800 mm shield as standard.
Winch unit and stacking shield
The cable drum is aligned with the direction of pull, so the cable pays out easily and is not fed over several rollers in different directions, which keeps cable wear low. A large drum core keeps the drop in pull from the bottom to the top cable layer small. The stacking shield is a torsion-resistant box of high-strength fine-grained steel whose wedge shape takes lateral pulling forces, and side-operated parking supports make the winch easy to attach to the tractor and remove.
Drive and control
The winch is driven from the PTO at 540, 750 or 1,000 rpm, through a bevel gear to a precision worm gear running in an oil bath. Multi-disc sintered plate sets control the brake and clutch. The Pfanzelt PPS precision controller adapts the winch to the forwarding situation in three stages, and the wireless control, radio system with toggle switch, pushbutton and emergency stop button, includes engine speed adjustment. TUTUM Pro crush protection is fitted as standard.
Options
Cable distribution with a cable infeed brake, a long cable package (10 mm × 110 m, 11 mm × 100 m, 12 mm × 90 m on the S150, S160 and S172), cable payout, the PTB automated drum trailing brake, a load lowering valve, a bevel gear for front mounting, and a retrieval winch for steep slopes are available on every size. Wider stacking shields are available on the S160 (1,800, 2,000 or 2,200 mm) and the S172 (2,000 or 2,200 mm).
Choosing a size
Choose by the tractor: the S150 suits tractors of up to 40 kW, the S160 approx. 30–60 kW and the S172 approx. 40–90 kW.
