Pfanzelt Profi Geared Cable Winches
Pfanzelt's Profi geared cable winches are built for professional forestry work, in five single-drum and five double-drum sizes from 61 kN to 2 × 102 kN, three of them with constant pull from the bottom to the top cable layer.
- Single-drum sizes from 61 to 102 kN, double-drum from 2 × 60 to 2 × 102 kN
- Constant pull on the P163K, P173K and P273K
- Cable distribution, cable infeed brake and PPS controller as standard
- PHS control for short reaction times, HBC wireless control
- Options include a hydraulic folding shield and an auxiliary winch
Overview
Pfanzelt’s Profi series is built for professional timber recovery, from heavy timber on flat ground to thinning on steep mountain slopes. It is a modular system, adapted to the operating conditions, and has recently had a new design and new technology, with more protection for the tractor, more working comfort, better access for maintenance and a refined hydraulic circuit for quicker reactions.
Winch unit
The cable drum is aligned with the direction of pull, so the cable pays out easily and is not fed over several rollers in different directions, keeping cable wear low; the winch sits favourably on the tractor in relation to its centre of gravity. The wide drum with a large core gives a large cable capacity and a small drop in pull from the bottom to the top layer, and the low cable infeed height means no deflection roller is needed.
Constant pull
The P163K, P173K and P273K pull with the same force on every cable layer, so the usual loss of pull does not occur. Thinner forestry cables can be used, and the operator always works with the full pulling force.
Drive and control
The winch is driven from the PTO at 540, 750 or 1,000 rpm, through a bevel gear to a precision worm gear running in an oil bath. Multi-disc sintered plate sets control the brake and clutch, and the PHS system keeps hydraulic pressure in the system for short reaction times, even after several switching operations. The Pfanzelt PPS precision controller lets the operator preselect how the clutch and brake cross over, to suit the forwarding situation. HBC wireless control is standard: pull, short release, release, continuous release and stepless engine speed, with engine start and stop and an emergency call system on request.
Standard equipment
Cable distribution with the Pfanzelt cable infeed brake, which keeps the cable taut as it is drawn in and opens fully when it pays out; the PPS controller; a protective grille; a Cardan shaft; a centred drive; holders for a chainsaw and fuel cans; and TUTUM Pro crush protection.
Options
Stacking shields up to 2,400 mm wide (2,200 mm on the P260), a hydraulic folding shield, proportional brake control, Vario traction (adjustable pulling force), hydraulic cable payout, automatic cable payout via cross spindles (P186, P1102), a centred drive with reversible direction of rotation for front or rear mounting, a retrieval winch for steep slopes, the AKS 2515 Mini_P anti-tilt system, and an auxiliary cable winch with 400 kg of pull and 240 m of plastic rope for laying out the cable off-road.
Choosing a size
The single-drum winches suit tractors from about 40 to 120 kW and the double-drum winches from about 55 to 150 kW; the sizes table gives the recommended power for each.
